Use Your Phone to Scan Files
If you have a paper or document that you want to "scan" but don't have a scanner at home, download the Google Drive app to your phone. Once logged in to the app, click the ( + ) button in the bottom right corner. You'll see an option to "Scan" on the menu that pops up.

Stand over your document, and take the picture.Use the options to adjust things like color/black and white, crop, or rotate.Click Save when done to save the "scan" to your Google Drive as a PDF file.
Some tips to help get good scans:
  • Try to have the document lit evenly.  Doing this in the daytime by a window works well.
  • Place white paper on a dark surface; the high contrast helps the app identify the edges of the paper and will crop the picture automatically.
